MS. VINEETA TOMAR
Principal
A verse in Sanskrit states:
“ Only a fourth part of knowledge does one gather from a teacher, a quarter the student acquires by self-effort, another quarter he learns from his co- students and the final quarter accrues in course of time making him fully knowledgeable.”
The verse underlines the fact that our knowledge is influenced by the ambience we are part of. So it is our bounden duty to ensure the quality of other factors too which are of considerable value.
Life is diametrically changed and different from that in the last century. These changes can be perceived in the life styles, food habits, approach to the people, relations and social fabric. Then how can we expect a child to accept that stereotyped system of imparting education which had
been used to teach us. In the changed scenario the words of Rabindra Nath Tagore are highly relevant.
“Don’t limit a child to your own learning, for he was born in another time.” A child’s world is a tapestry of varied patterns and designs. Given freedom to work, explore, think and create, today’s children can do wonders.
D.D.P.S. aims at instilling a feeling of ‘Country First’ followed by a sense of respect for oneself as well as the dignity of other people.
Most importantly, the need of the time is to prepare our children to be inquisitive enough to know the unknown, to explore the unexplored and to make a child think globally to be able to work locally.
Na hi Gyanen Sadrisham Pavitramih Vidyate
The motto of the school is “Na hi gyanen sadrisham pavitramiha vidyate” which translated into English means, “ In this world, there is nothing so sublime and pure as transcendental knowledge”. This is so true of the essence and the philosophy of our culture. Here we work towards bringing about a holistic development of the child that is entrusted to our care.
